Domestic Assistant role overview

We have multiple roles for domestic assistants who value the needs and rights of the elderly and disabled, and can show this by providing quality and understanding domestic support. This is a great opportunity to enter into a support worker career in a friendly, diverse and growing company!

This role requires individuals who have a passion for working with our community’s aged and disabled and their domestic needs. It is preferred that you can provide a good availability for Accept Care shifts as your primary job.

As an emerging support worker, you will be providing a range of domestic support services including general cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, laundry and even pet care where required. You will ensure that the highest quality support and domestic assistance outcomes are achieved.

Working both in collaboration with your supervisor and team members, as well as working autonomously, are also other key responsibilities.

  • Bring a flexible availability to work allocated shifts and to work extra shifts as needed
  • Are a great communicator with a proficiency in English
  • Have a genuine passion for providing high-quality domestic support
  • Are self-motivated, organised and able to work independently
  • Can adapt to different situations and instructions in the work environment

You must be able to provide:

  • Previous experience working in the cleaning industry, preferably in a community or residential cleaning for vulnerable individuals
  • Current DCSI Screening in Aged Care, Working with Children and NDIS (Disability Services)
  • Current National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old)
  • Current Manual Handling, First Aid and CPR
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Self-registered, reliable car with insurance
  • Mobile phone and tablet/PC/laptop with internet connection
  • Relevant vaccinations
  • Available for immediate start (preferred)
  • If you have a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) that would be a bonus!
